The rising artist here showcases a slew of acts that he has produced for, with names like Young Jeezy, Juelz Santana, Meek Mill, French Montana, Kid Ink and more being featured. OP: What’s your advice for someone who wants to follow in your footsteps? Even from the beginning with Meek and I, Jay always dropped knowledge on us. OP: What has your relationship been like with Jay-Z throughout your career? Paak’s “Bubblin” and it won a Grammy this past year. But as soon as I started getting back into music, I ended up producing Anderson. My passion never left, it just so happened that both of my guys got locked up while I was working with them, so I started investing in real estate and getting into my community a lot more. Then, Bobby got locked up while we were working so that affected everything I was trying to release with them. Meek was locked up while we were working on a lot of music. OP: How were you able to navigate the real estate industry? Was it mostly through trial and error? I always thought that I should invest rather than splurging at the club. I have a vision and I know the bigger picture. If you check my Instagram, I don’t have a million chains on.

OP: And all of the financing came from the money you made from music? As long as we’re building up affordable housing, our people don’t have to leave … We’re trying to put stakes in the ground and build this city up because if companies or investors can’t come in, then the city can’t thrive.

I have a residential piece of property that I’m working on, and I have another five acres of land that will become affordable housing projects. JB: Outside of buying up as much property as I can, I want other businesses to come in. OP: Are you concerned that you might elevate the risk of gentrification in the future?
